Gemini Capsule

Ask anyone, young or old, about American manned space exploration before the Space Shuttle and most will tell you about Apollo and the moon landings. Some will remember the Mercury program, our first venture into space. Fewer will remember Project Gemini, America's two man space program. Project Gemini lacked the excitement of our first steps into space, and the awe inspiring thrill of our first steps on the moon. The Gemini program did, however, let us prove that it is possible to work in space and that we can maneuver, rendezvous and dock in orbit, operations that we would need to master to get to the moon by way of the Apollo program.

This is Revell's Gemini Capsule kit. It was built with some minor modification and detailing including a kitchen foil instrument bay shroud and fiber-optic lighting for the instrument panel.
