Sci-Fi Spaceship Miniatures "Klingon Scout Ship"
Size: 12 inches long, 15 inch wingspan
Completed January 1, 1992
|This is SFSM's vacuform kit, built-up in 1991 for Stargate, a Texas Sci-fi kit and collectibles vendor. The kit features vacuform styrene parts with aluminum tube wing-tip guns. The "baffles" on the top of the wings are made from over 100 individually cut pieces of sheet plastic.|
|The model has a wingspan of 15 inches. Scale is anybody's guess. When it first appeared in the movie Star Trek III: Search for Spock, the Klingon Bird of Prey was depicted as a small scout ship with crew of about a dozen. A few years later on Star Trek: The Next Generation, it would show up as a battle cruiser the size of the Enterprise. Scale is then somewhere between 1/100 to 1/650.|
